Vattessa Colbung, owner of Desert Gem, an esteemed Aboriginal business located in Perth, Western Australia.
Born in Kalgoorlie relocated to Perth, Vattessa’s connection to her Aboriginal heritage has been a driving force behind her and her family’s journey.
With a commitment to sustainability and cultural heritage, Vattessa has positioned Desert Gem as an Aboriginal commercial supplier of coffee beans and automated coffee machines.
“As someone who spent my young adult years immersed in the café and hospitality industry, we know that coffee is more than just a beverage—it’s a celebration of flavours. At Desert Gem, I try my best to bring that passion in the products we choose. We hope you enjoy the moment over a good cup of coffee”
At Desert Gem, we celebrate the richness of global coffee culture. We’re more than just a coffee business; we’re a connection between the world’s finest coffee origins and the stories that bring them to life. Each cup we offer is a journey—crafted with care, sourced locally in Perth directly from Indigenous farmers across the world.
We have had past opportunities these include Aboriginal modelling program in 2017 with three Aboriginal female teenagers from Kalgoorlie entering the Kalgoorlie Fashion Show 2017 with Vattessa Colbung, Desert Gem entering as a first-time entrant with her three designer clothes.

contemporary Australian Aboriginal Products.
To positively impact Aboriginal communities in Perth, South West and Goldfields region
through human rights advocacy, sponsorship, donations and project management
